The weather bureau were predicting massive storms for Sydney last night. But unfortunately that was THE night for our schools' annual 'Camping on the oval!"It went ahead as the logistics and food preparation had been mammoth.
The night has a wonderful sense of community about it - from making damper and stuffing bananas with chocolate (to put on the campfire) - to the talent quest - to the bleary eyed breakfast.
However, the heavens did open and thunder did crack the skies just after that last trip to clean our teeth at 10pm.
Some left, a few took refuge in one of the classrooms, but most survived the storm that was Camping on the Oval for 2007.
